Sponsored Products

Sponsored Products are product list ads on retail websites. Advertisers pay to have their products listed on prominent places on retail websites (such as the top left spots or the first row) or within search engines embedded on the website.

Sponsored products are a form of native advertising, blending in with non-paid product listings. They pullinclude elements from product listings such as: product image and title, price, ratings and reviews, promotional messages and CTA's (Call To Action).

Furthermore, Sponsored Products can be integrated with an advertisers' product catalogue, making sure only in stock items are being displayed.

Below is an example of a Sponsored Product listing on Desktop and Mobile. You can see the SP ad follows the layout and style of the regular product listings, with only a label below the ad indicating the SP listings is in fact a paid advertisement.

How Sponsored Products works within Adhese

The campaign and booking side of an SP campaign if fairly similar to a regular display campaign, with CPC (cost per click) being the pricing model of choice. The campaign can either be guaranteed (fixed price in accordance with the advertiser) or auction (where the highest bidder wins). The creatives are uploaded in an Advar template that is tailored to the retailer's designs so the SP ad appears as native. The template can include:
Images or video Product title CTA Price Product info Disclaimers SKU etc... The SKU is filled in either in the dedicated SKU field or within a separate SKU field in the template. This allows for (i)ROAS ((incremental) Return On Ad Spend) calculations The ads can be targeted on the booking level. Delivery can be targeted on: product category, audiences and search results.

When the campaign starts, results such as impressions or clicks are collected via Kafka (real-time) or BigQuery, where the data, alongside SKU's can be combined with sales data to calculate (i)ROAS.
