First domain setups & Adblockers
Ad blockers are browser plugins that prevent specific requests based on a regular expression. As a result, the plugin blocks the browser from executing the requests which means Adhese won't be able to delivery ads or measure impressions.
To minimise the impact of ad blockers, Adhese can be implemented as a first domain solution. A subdomain, for example, ads.yourpublication.be
or a path like www.yourpublication.be/ads
, is then set as an alias of the Adhese servers. It is more challenging for an ad blocker to block the correct URLs without interfering with the proper and smooth functioning of a website.
Some adblockers filter out requests by simply blocking every domain / path that contains "ad(s)".
In addition, the Adhese application can run on the publisher's server. This will prevent ad blockers from blocking the application as it will be considered a property of the publisher.
